Maximal Software is currently making available for download the student/trial versions of both MPL and OptiMax, with CPLEX, GUROBI, CoinMP, SULUM, LINDO, CONOPT, KNITRO, IPOPT, and LGO solvers free of charge. The student/trial versions are limited size (300 constraints/variables) and work for a specific period, but otherwise fully functional versions of the software. This allows users to install the software on their own personal computer and evaluate it for use in optimization modeling projects.
Contact Maximal Software to receive the activation code for the software. You can either fill out the:

or send email to:
giving your name, and address along with other relevant information.
Select which file for MPL you want and then click on the name of the file to download it. If you are asked whether you want to save the file, choose to save it to your hard-disk. Please note the location, where you are saving it, since you are going to need it in Step 3.

Before installing this new version of MPL, please uninstall first any previous versions of you have already installed. You can start the installation by double-clicking on the file from where you saved it in Step 2. Please note that if you have 32-bit Windows, you should choose Mplwin50Student.msi. If you have 64-bit Windows, you can choose either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of MPL. The 32-bit MPL provides more options when linking to data sources and solvers, while the 64-bit version allows MPL to use more than 4Gb of memory.
